Bowling for Kids with Rotary on April 29

Volunteers are needed for the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North’s annual Bowling for Kids* fundraiser on Sunday, April 29.

We can use 8 volunteers — 4 for registration, starting at 8 a.m. and 4 for other help throughout the morning. Please comment on this entry to sign up.

Like to bowl? Consider signing up to participate in the day. They ask for a minimum donation of $150 per bowler, but you can ask friends, family members and colleagues to sponsor you. If you register, you get to bowl, enjoy a continental breakfast, have lunch, get a T-shirt and possibly win fabulous prizes.

The money raised supports the United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County, which is simply cool. There will be kids bowling at bowling for kids, too, which always makes bowling more fun!

Questions? Consult the brochure online, contact Tom Jacobs at (805) 898-8004 or tomejd@cox.net.

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity

In our return visit to the Santa Barbara Habitat for Humanity homes, we saw a very different scene. We were framing the first time, but this time it was finishing touches: priming, painting and siding. We got to work with some of the future residents of the homes.
We also learned some useful home improvement tips.

Pizza Night

Melanie and Diana hosted Rotaract for a make-your-own gourmet pizza night. We shaped dough, chose between marinara, pesto, ranch and barbecue sauces and then covered our pies with all sorts of toppings.
More photos are available in the photos section or by clicking the pizza pic above.
Thanks to all who attended and especially to our hosts. I don’t think anyone went home hungry.
