Invitation to Rotary Golf Tournament and/or Dinner

The Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise Golf Tournament is around the corner.

The golf tournament is at Glenn Annie is on Monday, July 30.

The cost is $200 per golfer, which includes two passes for the dinner. If a Rotaract player (or 4-some) wants to join, they may be able to arrange a discount. There are still about 20 spaces available.

Golfing is followed by a dinner at Oak Park at 6 p.m. The cost is $20. There is a silent auction and performances by The Fog and the Fiesta Spirit dancers.

They could use a few volunteers the day of the event, either at the golf course, or at the bar, auction, etc.

If any Rotaract member wishes to participate or join us for golf or dinner they are encouraged to contact Steve Kally directly. 805-338-0611 or by email at Stephen.c.kally@smithbarney.com.

First Anniversary Party a Success!

We ate, drank and were merry to celebrate a year since the Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara was chartered.

Thanks to everyone who came to the event and to everyone who has made the past year such a success! The Rotarians are impressed with what we’ve accomplished in such a short time, and they’ve helped make it possible. Imagine how much more we can get done in another year!

Check out the photos on the photos page.

If you head north (toward the mountains) on Mission from Highway 101, make a left on Garden Street and look for parking. Carpool when possible.
Why: We get to celebrate all that we have accomplished in such a short time, and we get to introduce new members to what we’re about. There’s also good food, drinks and interesting people to talk with!
What to Wear: Classy casual. It will also be mostly outdoors, so light layers may be wise.

Fiesta Volunteers Needed!

As part of Santa Barbara’s largest annual festival, Fiesta, the Santa Barbara Rotaract club will be operating a booth in the De La Guerra Mercado. We will be selling pre-packaged drinks and food, such as water, Monster, FRS, Arizona Iced Tea, and ice cream! We will be operating the booth all day, every day of Fiesta, from 10 in the morning until midnight. We have a great location this year; right near the entrance between the churro lady and the fish taco stand! All proceeds from the sales we make will go to the Rotaract coffers for future volunteer and social activities. Oh, and by “we”, that would be YOU! The work will be split into 3 and 4 hour shifts with either 3 or 4 people working each shift. So, figure out when you can volunteer and go the signup form to let us know. The weekday daytime shifts will be particularly hard to fill, so if you can, please make something happen and volunteer for those times. The shift schedule will be finalized in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance!
