Homework: Nominate Someone for 40 Under 40

Every year, the Pacific Coast Business Times honors 40 people under age 40 who are active in the business communities of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

If you or someone you know is under 40 and somewhat interesting, please nominate them. Bonus points are given for people who are active in community service in addition to their day job, who are owners of their own business, who have received recognition in their field, who are active in the business scene.

Whether they’re a lawyer, the owner of a tech company (hint hint) or an events coordinator for an active nonprofit, they could be eligible for a spot in the weekly business journal’s special report and a free dinner at the awards ceremony.

Type the person’s name, job title, company city, the person’s contact phone number, the reason for nominating them and the name and phone number of the nominator into an email. (Yes, you can nominate yourself.) Send it to newsroom@pacbiztimes.com soon — or by Sept. 7 at the latest. Questions? Call Managing Editor Ray Estrada at (805) 560-6950.

Disclaimer: I formerly worked for the Pacific Coast Business Times.
