You could spend one Friday a month learning secrets to success and going behind-the-scenes in our county with Leadership Santa Barbara County.
As Dana explained at our August meeting, Leadership is a 9-month program (but only 1 day a month) that teaches useful leadership/life skills, creates amazing networking opportunities and helps you better understand where you live.
Each month the group tackles a different topic such as the environment, education, politics, arts and entertainment and community service. You spend part of the day getting lessons in leadership and the rest of the day participating in field trips, discussions and presentations about life in Santa Barbara. Some examples from last year’s class trips included the Chumash Casino, the police station, the Masonic Temple, the Museum of Art and MTD — to name a few.
Most businesses will cover the cost of participating because you become wiser about work and interacting with people. Learn more at www.leadsb.org. Applications are due by September 7.
