The annual Rotary Poverty Conference is a rare chance to learn about poverty in a meaningful way. It’s not a TV commercial showing you hungry kids; it’s a gathering of experts and concerned community members looking at the trends of poverty throughout the world and practical, efficient ways to reduce it.
The event is free for Rotaract members (and it’s not too late to become a member). Optional lunch costs extra.
This year’s theme is Poverty and the Environment. The conference will be held at Cal State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) on November 17.
The day’s agenda is available at www.povertyconference.com. You can also download the registration form there. Again, it’s free for Rotaract members, so please fill out a form and send it in today. Then, email sb_rotaract@yahoo.com and let us know you’re going so we can help arrange carpools to Camarillo.
