We have been given the opportunity to be marshalls for the Fiesta parade. It requires just one training session and of course a committment on the parade day. There are perks too! Besides the fame and envy of your friends, there are parties you get to attend.
Get ready for some Fiesta Fun! The one and only training session for being a Marshall for the Fiesta Parade will be Monday, July 28th at 6:00pm at 441 Loma Alta Drive at the home of Cas and Kathy Stimson. Please park in the street. Kelsey Stimson will drive everyone up the driveway in a golf cart since there is a shortage of parking. The training session will be followed by a Fiesta Marshall kickoff party hosted by Cas and Kathy Stimson. Lots of great drinks and snacks.
If you cannot atttend the training session or for some reason cannot be a Marshall this year, please call Chris Hartman at home 569-3182 or cell 637-3551 or reply by email.
The Fiesta Parade is Friday, August 1st. The time commitment for most people will be from 10:30am to around 3:30pm. After that, there is a Horseman’s Rendevous Party at the Carriage Museum.
Thank you for your help. We are looking forward to having lots of fun and a successful Fiesta Parade! Viva La Fiesta!

Transition House in Santa Barbara opened over 20 years ago to provide food and shelter to families who have lost their housing. The philosophy of Transition House is to solve the cause of homelessness for capable and motivated families, and to end their reliance on public assistance. On average, 60% of families that have used the Transition House resources return to permanent housing and sustainable economic means.
Volunteers around the community host one night a month to provide food and a home cooked meal for the families at Transition House. Today, Santa Barbara Sunrise Rotarian Sister Christine and St. Vincent’s Church are providing food for a July 4th BBQ cookout. They need volunteers to help prepare and serve the food.

Please contact Jennifer Wang at jennifer.wang@sbrotaract.com for more information on this volunteer opportunity — either for tonight or the next time at Transition House!
We’ve posted the liasons to each Rotary Club on the About page. Whether you’re a Rotarian wondering who should be visiting your club or a Rotaractor wondering how you can get involved, check out the page.
It’s time to celebrate another year of good friends and good service! We’re turning two and having a party on Tuesday, July 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the home of Scott and Lisa Burns, a couple of local Rotary members.
You should come! Enjoy great food, and drinks while networking and hanging out with friends. Plus it’s the perfect opportunity to bring new people you know who are interested in joining. (It’s a more enticing event for newbies to come to than an outdoor clean up project. Let’s ease them in.)
Please RSVP as soon as possible to info@sbrotaract.com if you’d like to come. Remember it’s free. Dress classy casual, and as your mom would tell you, bring a sweater in case it gets cold at night.
The Burns live at 2319 Garden St in Santa Barbara (map). If you head north (toward the mountains) on Mission from Highway 101, make a left on Garden Street and look for parking. Carpool if possible.
For those of you who skimmed past our email in your inbox, or aren’t on the list to begin with, our July meeting is tonight at 6:30 PM at the Sharkeez back patio (416 State St). This is going to be one of our biggest and most important meetings of the year so don’t miss it!
