Happy Holidays!  Sunrise Rotarians are celebrating early and would like to invite you to their holiday special.  Rotaractors are invited at a discounted price of $20 which includes food and drink!  The party starts at 6PM on Friday, 12/19/08.  If you are interested, please email jennifer.wang@sbrotaract.com for the address.  Cheers!

Shop for Foster Kids

During Halloween, Rotaract volunteered for Downtown Rotary’s masquerade ball, raising thousands of dollars for needy foster kids. On Dec 15 and 16, after work. they are going shopping for holiday gifts for the kids. The time is TBD but defintely in the evening, after work. It will only take about an hour and I think it will promise to be very rewarding.

Dec 15 – Macy’s

Dec 16 – K-Mart (though this date and time conflicts with our general meeting).

If you are interested in helping on the 15th, please email me. david [at] sbortaract.com

Thanks!

Tour Northern Italy

Last year, past president and one of the club founders, Liz Werhane, went on a trip through the northwest region on Italy. She was the only person that represented our country and came back with tales of new friends and gelato.

District 2030 is once again hosting their tour for 2009. The trip will take place from March 20 to the 29th, 2009.

Applications (CV) should be sent to internazionale2030@yahoo.it by December 31, 2008. Additional information can be found in this brochure [PDF]

Bikefest 2008

This event could be a volunteer’s dream! You can sleep in a little, get fed, listen to music and be really useful.

Bikefest 2008 will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. at 329 Vereda Del Ciervo, Goleta

The day of contact person is Lou Ventura, and his phone numbers are 259-9317 and 685-1649.

There are more than 500 bikes to be assembled!

If you can bring metric tools, that will be helpful. Useful sizes include 8,10,12,13,14,15,17. Channel locks and crescent wrenches are always needed. We will have some wrenches here if you can’t bring any. If you have no idea what those tools are or how to use them, you’re not alone! Show up, and you’ll be taught.

Please RSVP to me no later than EOD Wednesday, Dec. 3 so I can let Lou know how many Rotaractors to expect.
