Come to the SB Library this Friday (Sept 25) from 5:30 to 7 PM for their kick-off event for the Big Read/Fahrenheit 451 event! At 6:05, they’ll play the song “Fire” by the Ohio Players and everyone will stop everything and dance! Local dance phenom Derrick Curtis will be the leader and guide.
The library is lcoated at 40 E Anapamu St. Even if you don’t stay for the whole event, come for the flash mob. Let’s make this a success.
We would love to have you join us September 13th at a Haitian Night celebration that will be raising funds to support Fonkoze of Santa Barbara! Fonkoze provides micro-loans and banking services for a rural community in Haiti. The first shift is from 1-2:30pm helping to set up for the event, and volunteers from 5-8:45pm will help serve dinner and assist in take down. Those at the later shift will be able to have some of the dinner and watch the Fonkoze presentation. Event is in the Parish Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church.
