We’re looking forward to another great Rotaract meeting Tuesday, August 17 at 6:30 pm–we’ll get a tour of the Braille Institute at 2031 De La Vina Street, an hear about a few fun upcoming community, social, and international project opportunities. Hope to see you all there!

Come join us during our last Rotaract meeting of this Rotary year while we stop to smell the roses! Our second June meeting is tomorrow, June 15th at 6:30pm. We will be meeting in the grassy area by the Mission Rose Garden. Please bring something to sit on (blanket, towel, lawn chair) if you don’t want to sit directly in the grass. You are welcome to bring some food with you if you’d like since it will be dinner time and we aren’t meeting at a place that has food.
Here is a link to check the weather for tomorrow. It will probably be in the mid/low 60s when we meet, so remember to bring a sweater!
The Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara will hold its first April meeting on Tuesday, April 6, at 6:30 PM at Silvergreens restaurant on Chapala Street in downtown Santa Barbara. You can find us in the back room.
April is going to be a fun month. We have a 4-city creek cleanup on April 24, a film screening on April 22 and much more.
Also, it’s time to think about what role you can play in Rotaract from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2011. Elections officers and chair appointments will happen soon!

Victoria Bentley from the Montecito Rotary Club will be our guest speaker and will be telling us all about the international project in Africa that we are helping fund. It is going to be a great meeting, and I hope to see you all there!

Here’s to 2010! The fun starts with our first meeting on Tuesday, January 5, at 6:30 PM at Silvergreens in Santa Barbara.
There will be no meeting on Tuesday, December 15.
Instead, we will celebrate together at our annual holiday party on Friday, December 18.

The Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara holiday party is home to one of the three best white elephant gift exchanges in town, tasty morsels and lots of fabulous 20-somethings. Guest Speaker: Natalie Olivas, a personal trainer at SB Training, will share nutrition tips for busy professionals on the go. She’ll share good reminders about how to be healthy and likely teach you a few things you don’t know.
Natalie is certified by the International Sports Studies Association. She’s a Gaucho alumna who majored in biochemistry with a minor in exercise and health sciences.
In addition to our guest speaker, we’ll give updates about the next service projects and social activities. Stay tuned for our next beach cleanup, night hike and game night.
Mingle with other young professionals at our next meeting on Tuesday, July 21. Rotaract is partnering with Catalyst, a professional development lecture series, We’ll meet at the Canary Hotel (at the intersection of Carrillo and Chapala) at 6 p.m. to check in for the lecture, conduct a brief Rotaract meeting in the Coast bar at 6:15, and then grab seats at 6:45 to hear Niels Johnson-Lameijer’s advice on achieving your goals.

Our first June meeting will take place tomorrow (6/2) at Sharkeez in the back patio at 6:30 PM. Show up and learn about our recent volunteer projects, trip to San Diego, and upcoming opportunities such as Vicky’s 3000 and a fun night hike this week.
