STEPS (S.T.E.P.S. (Symposium To Eliminate Poverty) conference coming to January 28 8am-4pm! @ UCSB. At the conference you will hear first hand from people who are changing the world by eliminating local poverty through sustainable projects. It’s a great way to meet others & think of new ways to make a difference! I highly encourage everyone to come! The registration is online and very easy to do (I have already registered!)! Here is the link:
There will also be a Post-STEPS social with all the attending Rotaract Clubs of District 5240. We will get to know more about our fellow Rotaractors as we enjoy ourselves with the nightlife of Santa Barbara!
Whoa, the pictures from our meeting at the FSA have been posted on Flickr!
There’s an opportunity for 2 Rotaractors, one from the north district and one from south, to be partially funded to attend the RI Convention in New Orleans. If you were on the fence about this before, this is definitely for you.
There will be $1,000 available for each of the two Rotaractors chosen. The estimated cost for the whole trip would be $1500-2000 so this would cover at least half of that. You can also certainly get creative to save on lodging, which is the biggest cost by far.
If you are interested, please contact a board member or Courtlin so we can nominate you. Please be prepared with a bio (1 page or less). For more information, check out this document.
Having attended two conventions in the past, I highly recommend it. You don’t fully understand Rotary until you attend these historic events.
Please join us at our annual holiday party this Saturday! We’ll have drinks and food catered by Silvergreens. We’ll also have a White Elephant gift exchange so don’t forget to bring your gift ($10). We are also accepting canned food donations and will give you $1 credit for each can (limit 3).
$10 for members, $15-non members. Now’s a great time to renew or pay for your yearly membership to take advantage of the cheaper price. Contact email@example.com if you are unsure if you owe money.
The party will be at the Willow Springs clubhouse located at 60 Willow Springs Ln, 93117. It’s the first large building on your left you’ll see as you enter the complex. There’s plenty of parking around the building (3 sides) but you are free to park in any spot that is not covered.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
