When: 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8

Where: Meet at Panda Express at La Cumbre and then we’ll carpool to the trailhead at Lizard’s Mouth.

Why: Lizard’s Mouth is a great spot. We’ll have beautiful views of the city. There are geat boulders to frolic on and nooks to explore.

Happy Anniversary, Rotaract

Happy 3 (and then some)-year anniversary to the Rotaract Club of Santa Barbara.

Thank you to all the Rotarians who have supported the club through these formative years and to the Rotaractors who make it so much fun.

We had a fantastic party at the Dos Pueblos Ranch beach. Thanks to our wonderful hosts and caterer Lori Cordova of the Vandenberg Village Rotary Club. See more photos of the 2009 anniversary party here.

Night Hike: Jesusita on 9/3

In honor of Thursday’s so-nearly-full-you-can’t-tell-it’s-not-full-yet moon, we’ll head out on our next night hike.

When: Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m.
Where: Meet in front of the Panda Express at La Cumbre. Then we’ll carpool to the Jesusita trailhead.
Who: You, your friends, your well-behaved dogs
Why: We do this every month. Haven’t you been paying attention? And, it’s fun.
Note: This is through an area that burned earlier this year. It will not be lush and green, and depending on trail conditions, we may have to play the evening by ear. If you want to see the burn area, this is a good time. The trail may be closed again soon so planes can drop erosion-control materials there.

In the spirit of trying something new, please RSVP in the comments of this blog entry if you’ll be able to join us.
