Masquerade Volunteer Instructions
Please report to the entrance of the Event (401 S. Hope Ave, at the SB Auto Group Land Rover, Jaguar and Smart Car showrooms) at least 15 minutes prior to your shift or earlier if possible. If your shift starts at 8:30 or 10:30 please feel free to come early and enjoy the party before your shift starts!
At the entrance, indicate to “Will Call” that you are a Rotaract Volunteer, and after presenting ID proving you are 21 years of age or over, they will direct you to me at Volunteer check-in. You will be given a short training on your assigned volunteer duty, then admitted to the party. If you are scheduled on a later shift, please report to volunteer check-in 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift . This will enable a smooth volunteer transition for everyone.
Clean-Up will start at 1:00 and should be quick with so many volunteers. Report to Volunteer Check-In for a clean-up assignment.

Party With San Diego Rotaractors

We’re having a "Taste of Santa Barbara" wine night on Saturday, October 18th at 8:00 p.m. at Rotaractor Liz Werhane’s house. Now’s your chance to sample some local vino, nibble on some tasty snacks and meet some fellow Rotaractors from the San Diego Club. All you have to do is bring a snack/appetizer to share. And, if you’re so inclined, bring something that epitomizes Santa Barbara to reflect the theme of the night. Need suggestions about what to bring or you want to RSVP? Contact Liz at liz@sbrotaract.com no later than Friday, October 17th. Cheers!
Meeting at Cottage Tonight
Tonight’s meeting will be held at Cottage Hospital. There will be a guided tour at 5:30 for the early birds and our meeting will start at the regular time of 6:30 PM at the Burtess Auditorium.
Please note the parking and meeting location on the following maps.
Downtown Rotary BBQ Mixer
The downtown Rotary club is putting on their annual Family BBQ on the 19th and wanted to extend an invitation to you and the other members of Rotaract to attend the event. The BBQ will provide an opportunity for members of Rotary and Rotaract to interact in a social environment over food, beer/wine, music (http://www.glendessaryjam.com/history.html), and line dancing (Lisa Stecker will be leading some post dinner dancing lessons). If anyone from the Rotaract club is interested in attending, as well as friends of members, feel free to have them get in touch with Tracy York by email (tracy@nozaresearch.com) or cell at (805) 441-2554. We are asking that people pre-register before the event so we have a good idea of how much food we will need day of.

About a dozen Rotaract members teamed up on Saturday, August 16, to mold adobe bricks with the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation. The bricks will eventually be used to help rebuild walls of the historic adobe buildings of the presidio. (Editor’s note: I’m still sore.)

Special Delivery
Just a quick reminder. We’ll be delivering flowers on behalf of the Dream Foundation on Saturday morning. Learn more about the Dream Foundation at http://www.dreamfoundation.org/. We’ll meet between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the downtown farmer’s market, where bouquets will be assembled. Then we’ll team up to make deliveries to terminally ill adults. Please RSVP if you plan to attend this event so that the Dream Foundation will be prepared to put all of us to work. *Note: I have no idea specifically what type of flowers we’ll be delivering.
