Night hike cancelled!
Rotaract will lead its monthly night hike tonight, November 11. We’ll meet at Old Mission Santa Barbara at 6 p.m. and carpool to a trailhead. Beginners welcome.
Please bring a flashlight or headlamp, warm layered clothes and water. Friends and dogs are also welcome.

From October 15-20, Rotary International will be hosting Group Study Exchange visitors from Bangladesh. So that they feel welcome and to give them a chance to learn about American culture Rotaract will be sharing some dessert and a high school football game on Friday October 16th. Meet us at Pinkberry at State and De La Guerra at 5:45pm if you’d like to help us represent Rotaract and Santa Barbara, it will be fun! The football game is San Marcos High School vs Oxnard and we’ll caravan as a group after dessert.

Our next night hike is Thursday, August 20. We’ll meet at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Coast Village Road in Montecito at 6:30 p.m. We’ll carpool to the San Ysidro Trailhead from there.

Meet at Oak Park at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, for this month’s FREE Rotaract social: the French Festival.
Look for President Tara Yeto at the corner of Alamar and Junipero at 4 p.m. Bring some cash if you want to sample yummy French foods. There will also be plenty of entertainment, including a poodle parade and a drag revue.

The movie night is Tuesday, June 30th at the Arlington Theatre. The movie starts at 7:30p , so we’ll meet at the main front
entrance of the Arlington at 7:00p. The movie runs 2 1/2 hours (and probably another 10-15 minutes of previews.) So, we’re probably looking at an end time of around 10:15-10:30. Please email michelle [at] sbrotaract [dot] com with your intent to attend.
We are canceling tonight’s social event at Tupelo Junction. Our next fun social opportunities include a night hike on Friday, May 8; beer tasting in Carpinteria tentatively on Saturday, May 16; and seeing to Menopause the Musical on Thursday, May 21. B-I-N-G-O We’re trying our luck once again at the BINGO tables on Thursday, November 13th at the Santa Barbara Elks Lodge (150 North Kellogg Ave.) We’ll meet at the front of the Elks Lodge at 6:30. BINGO starts promptly at 7:0o and goes until around 10:00. “Buy-ins” are $20 and additional game packs are $5. (First-timers get the second game pack for free!) There are also daubers on-sale for $1. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase.

Although the German Rotaractors rolled in and out of Santa Barbara in their Chevy suburban all too quickly, we enjoyed their visit while they were here!
Rita, in the tank top in the photo above, was a phenomenal hostess. She took them on the Landshark, walked them to the mission (yes walked), had an ice cream cone at Ben & Jerry’s with them and shared her apartment with three of our five guests!
In the evening, 10 Americans and 5 Germans hit the town. After a very happy hour (or two) at Sandbar, we enjoyed dinner at Los Arroyos. Then the group went to Elsie’s to keep the conversation going.
Whether from the Black Forest, Munich or Berlin, they all had many stories to tell and great senses of humor. You are all welcome back anytime!
